BOBSC Bulletin: City of Leeds October Level 2 Meet

City of Leeds October Level 2 Meet, to be held Saturday 25^th and Sunday 26^th October, at John Charles Centre for Sport Leeds.

Swimmers entered in this meet must have achieved the entry time or the equivalent converted time in the previous 12 months.

Cost of entry: £5.00

BOBSC Bulletin: September Time Trials

Please find attached entry form for September time trials to be held Friday 5^th September 2014 at Dearneside Leisure Centre, 6.00pm warm up.

Please note the following changes to BOBSC conditions

In accordance with ASA recommendation 9 year olds may only swim 50m and 200m events.

Only 9 year and under girls, and 10 year and under boys can swim 100m IM for Winter Yorkshire times

Anyone who has any queries re the time trials please see me at any training session or contact me via e-mail

All completed forms can be handed to Julia or via e-mail competitions@bobsc.co.uk (entries will not receive acknowledgment until after 11^th August)

Please choose only two swims, please check the running order which is on the right hand side of the entry form.

No Splits will be official and ASA rules apply.

BOBSC Bulletin: Nationals 2014

Hi all,

As some of you may be aware we have a very exciting two weeks ahead of us with the start of nationals this coming Wednesday!

The club has not had any qualifiers for this major meet in 4 years and 2014 has been a fantastic year for our swimmers with two swimmers qualifying in 9 events overall.

I'm sure everyone will be wishing Libby turner and Thomas speed all the best of luck but if you would like to attend the meet to support our swimmers representing the club, Libby will be swimming at ponds forge this coming Wednesday 29th july at 9am, Thursday 31st at 8am and Saturday 2nd august at 9am starts.

Thomas will compete the week after on Wednesday 6th august at 9am and Saturday 9th at 9am starts. All swims will be live on the asa website if you would like to follow the championships online.

I'm sure you will all be cheering for Libby and Tom, and on behalf of everyone in the club I would like to wish them all the very best through this exciting journey in their swimming careers!

BOBSC Bulletin: BMSL Individual Championships/COSSS Snow Frills Meet

The following meets are licensed at Level 3, qualification for County/Regional Championships and level 1 & 2 Meets

COSSS Snow Frills Meet, to be held Saturday 22^nd and Sunday 23^rd November 2014 at Ponds forge Sheffield.

The promoter reserves the right to limit entries to comply with license conditions. This gala will be filled on a first come first served basis.

BOBSC Bulletin: Robin Hood Open Meet 2014

Sherwood Colliery Swimming Club, Robin Hood Open Meet 2014, to be held Saturday 4^th & Sunday 5^th October at Ponds Forge ISC Sheffield

Entry times must meet the published qualifying standards (long course 50m pool) and must be taken from GB rankings, converted times are allowed.

10 year old boys must have the relevant 200m qualifying time to enter 100m events

If the events are oversubscribed, entries with the slowest times may be rejected even though these times meet the qualifying standard. The promoters reserve the right to determine how many swimmers are allocated to each event based on the total number of entries received. Entry fees will be refunded to unsuccessful applicants.

Cost of entries: £6.00

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

12^TH JULY 2014

· The dead line has now passed to register any questions or criticism. Any questions asked on the day may be answered at members' discretion.

· There is only one resolution to add to the agenda which is , to adopt the latest ASA recommended constitution. This will keep the club up to date with ASA rules and regulations.

· Any eligible member wishing to vote by proxy must inform the Chairman of their intention, at least 24 hours before the AGM.

· The nomination form for the election of committee members will be removed from the notice board at the end of training on Friday 11^th July 2014 ..

BOBSC Bulletin: ASA NER Age Groups

Hi all

On June 7th,8th,14th and 22nd we had a team of 4 swimmers taking part in the ASA long course North East Regional Championships held at Leeds, Ponds forge and after pool issues Sunderland as well!

This meet proved to be the best results BOBSC have had at age group regional level in the last 3 years with 21 events qualified, 17 of them being top ten finishes in the finals and a gold medallist in the 200 breastroke for Libby Turner! Making her ASANER 12 year old champion for that event.

We had superb swims from Jessica Richardson in the 100m butterfly, Greg Lugton in the 100 back, 200 fs 8th, 100 fs 10th and 400 fs, Abigail miles in the 200 fs 10th, 100 brs 5th, 200 brs 4th, 100 fs, 200 IM 10th, 200bc 9th, 100 bc 4th and Libby turner in the 400 IM 8th, 200 fs 9th, 200 fly 4th, 100 brs 9th, 100 fly 6th, 200 brs 1st, 100 fs 6th, 200 IM 9th and 200 bc 8th!

From all at the club a big well done to Jess, Abigail, Greg and Libby for swimming their socks off!

BOBSC Bulletin: City of Leeds A/B Grade Meet

Hi all,

It was another busy weekend for Borough of Barnsley on the 28th and 29th of June with the club taking a team of 14 swimmers to the City of Leeds A/B Grade Meet held at the John Charles centre.

Competing swimmers were Harriet Ostrowski-Jones, Millie Hamby, Maea Hamby, Abigail Miles, Jessica Richardson, Mollie James, Lewis Baker, Matthew Selous, Sam Charlesworth, Lucy Hatfield, Lucy Greatorex, Isabelle Speed, Megan Lee and Georgia Lee.

Swimmers performed superbly with a medal haul of 6 gold's, 13 silvers and 1 bronze. Swimmers had 33 finishes between 4th and 10th position as well as 47 personal best time and 5 regional qualifying times for Decembers age group short course north east championships!

A huge achievement from a great team of swimmers again doing the club proud!

Well done guys from all the club!

BOBSC Bulletin: Scarborough A & B meet

Hi all!

We have had another huge success in the water recently.

The club took a team of 38 swimmers to the Scarborough A & B grade meet held on the 20th, 21st & 22nd of June with huge success!

All the swimmers performed fantastic in the water setting a very high standard from the beginning!

Medals were coming in out of every event with some BOBSC swimmers taking all three top places!

In the junior A & B grade skins. Georgia Clarke represented the team in the B grade while Abigail miles and Nathan Billingham and Elizabeth safonika competed in the A grade.

In the senior skins we had Thomas Stather and Elliott Robinson qualifying for the B grade skins while Thomas speed and Claire berry in the A grade skins. Claire berry successfully fighting through all 5 rounds to win the A grade!

In total the club came away with 23 speeding medals, 42 gold, 35 silvers, 32 bronze, 99 finishes between 4th and 10th place and finally 166 personal best times!

I can not express how well the swimmers performed on and off the pool side representing the club with such high standards it was truely a pleasure to be part of the team!

I would also like to say a huge thank you and well done to our team managers Craig lee, David Stather, Judy Harratt, Jayne smart and Lawrence savage who cheered (and danced) along supporting every swimmer in the water and making the whole weekend a massive success!

On behalf of the swimmers and myself THANK YOU!
