BOBSC Bulletin: Mayors Parade 2016

 

Mayors Parade

 

This year’s Mayors Parade will take place Saturday 9th July, and will leave the Upper Courthouse car park at 12.00noon, finishing at approximately 12.45.

 

The theme is ‘Best in Barnsley’.

 

Everyone is welcome to take part, with swimmers being asked to wear the club kit.

NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY JUST A WILLINGNESS TO HELP THE CLUB AND MAKE THE DAY ENJOYABLE AND SUCCESSFUL FOR OUR CHILDREN

BOBSC Bulletin: Concerns

To all Borough of Barnsley swimming club members;  Unfortunately I have had some concerns raised in relation to the behaviour of some club members towards each other.
Please can I remind you all of the behaviour expectations outlined in your code of conduct (attached), particularly General Behaviour points 1 & 3. I would also like to remind you that making inappropriate comments regarding other club members via social media is against ASA rules and regulations.
I trust that this will be taken on board by all members and that we can all continue to support and encourage each other in training practice as well as at competitions.

BOBSC Bulletin: Race night

On behalf of BOBSC I would like to thank everyone that supported the race night on Saturday, I am sure you will agree it was a very good night. I would also like to thank Mr and Mrs Richardson for donating the chocolate hampers.

The night was very successful and raised £520 which will go towards club funds. Once again thank you for everyone's support.

BOBSC Bulletin: Regional Talent Camp

 

 

We have some fantastic news that our very own Curtis Harper has been selected to take part in a Regional Talent Camp following his success at the long course Regional Championships held in May at Ponds Forge International.

 

This is a superb achievement as this was Curtis's first regional championships and was swimming as the youngest in his age group. Curtis, swimming at 10 years of age during the meet as it was age at 31^st December meant Curtis was swimming against boys already aged 11 and 12 year old. Curtis came away with life time personal bests I all events and if it wasn't for the merging of age groups would have medalled in all 4 events qualified for!

 

The swim camp will take place on the 3^rd of September at the John Charles centre of sport, Leeds.

 

Good luck Curtis and keep up the hard work!!

Due to BOBSC hosting BMSL at Dearneside there will be no pool training Saturday 11^th June.

We have advertising availability in our program which will reach around 400 families on the day, costs of advertising are £30 half page or £50 full page which will also include promotion in the run up and after on social media.

BOBSC Bulletin: British Summer Championships/ASA Summer Meet

 

 

Congratulations to Thomas Speed on officially qualifying for the British Summer Nationals in the 50 & 100m Breaststroke, and in 200m Breaststroke at ASA Summer Meet.

 

The British Summer Nationals will take place from the  26th to the 31st of July and ASA Summer Meet from 1^st August to 5^th August  at Ponds Forge International Pool.
