BOBSC Bulletin: Swimming Incentives

 

Good afternoon Everyone

 

As you know the new swim season and is fast approaching, we wish all our children the best of luck in each of the competitions they attend over the coming weeks.    

 

As parents could you please bear in mind the below couple of sensitive points to support all the swimmers.

 

 

Incentives

 

We know how some kids thrive on incentives to do well and we all want to reward kids for their achievements, however, it is not recommended to give your children large incentives in order to get Personal Bests at competitions or nor is it acceptable practice to tell them to beat other swimmers, this can often be a daunting experience for them and added pressure does not always help them swim well, especially when they know they have not achieved a personal best or for the swimmers that know they are being challenged.  

 

Please ask your child to be mindful in saying what they get for a PB as this does not support the team ethos that we strive to gain within the club, not every swimmer will get something.

 

Coaching from the side

 

Sometimes you may find that your child is doing something different to the others, or you may feel that a coach has not picked up on something,  there are many different drills that the coaches request the children to undertake to help them in their technique,  training sessions are about improving that technique often on an individual level rather than always going at full steam.      

 

Should you have any concerns could you please speak to your Coach in the first instance and then Exec Committee or welfare officer in order that we can resolve the concern.

BOBSC Bulletin: long course training

 

 

Hi,

 

We will be holding Long Course training for the Intermediate , A2 & A squads on Sunday 18^th September, 2-4pm at John Charles Centre, Leeds.

 

The cost of the session will be £6 which can be paid through our gala account or to our club treasurer, Adrian Ostroswki.

 

There will be a list of swimmers from each squad placed on the notice board which will be taken down on the 9^th September.

 

Please can all swimmers attending mark off if they are attending or not.

BOBSC Fee Increases

At our recent AGM is was agreed that our monthly fees would be increased with effect from 1 September 2016 to the following rates:

Intermediate Squad	£39.00	£37.33
Junior Squad	£28.00	£26.67
Youth Squad - full	£39.00	£37.79
A Squad and Youth Squad - session	£14.59	£13.95

 

Please update your standing order payments due on 5 September 2016 for the above.

Fees for Sunday morning sessions for Junior and Intermediate squad members will increase to £3.50 from £3.35. These apply from the first Sunday in September and payment will continue to be collected on poolside.
